Studio Conversations
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the doors of some of the NOrth East’s most creative studios? Now you can find out!
We have organised three very different opportunities for people to visit studios in the region. the first is a highly acclaimed, award winning ideas agency, the second is a creative workspace where furniture, lighting, large scale public artwork and site specific commissions are contrived and the third is a leading interior design practice.
There will be the opportunity to look around the studios and then there will be a studio conversation on the topics listed below:

CREATIVE PROGRESSION
Date: Tuesday 26th October 2010
Time: 5.30 – 7.30pm
Location: Crisis Skylight Newcastle
FREE
Creative Progression is a programme of arts activities for homeless adults in Newcastle upon Tyne that provides opportunities to explore what ‘progression’ means for them and help them to take steps along their journey.
Using his flat pack, self-build chairs and tables – ChairKIT – Dan Civico has been guiding participants through the creative process in customising furniture, using different types of spray painting techniques to decorate the surface.
Glass artist Sarah Blood has introduced participants to traditional sign writing techniques, from which participants have produced improvised forms and will exhibit a collaborative site-specific sculpture in neon.
The Creative Progression programme is a collaboration between Helix Arts, Crisis and The Cyrenians and is funded by Newcastle City Council’s Working Neighbourhood Fund.
This project is supported by:
