The project I’m working on at Harbottle School to re-design one of their classrooms is progressing really well.  We’ve finished most of the customised furniture…..it’s looks great!

I’ve just found this image of when the Mayor of Gateshead and myself opened the Dilley Line Gallery in Gateshead.  I’m working on the second phase of the project now designing and producing information points that run up and down the walkway

BALTIC has a team of freelance artists who are available to lead practical sessions based on the exhibitions for schools, colleges and universities. These studio sessions can be half-day or full-day and can take place at BALTIC or at your school, college or university.

Creative Progression is a programme of arts activities for homeless adults in Newcastle upon Tyne that provides opportunities to explore what ‘progression’ means for them and help them to take steps along their journey.

In the initial stages of the project Dan Civico used his flat pack, self-build chairs and tables – ChairKIT to guide participants through the creative process customising the furniture, using different types of spray painting techniques to decorate the surface.

Glass artist Sarah Blood introduced participants to traditional sign writing techniques, from which participants produced improvised forms.

The work created was exhibited as a collaborative show at Crisis Skylight.

The Creative Progression programme is a collaboration between Helix Arts, Crisis and The Cyrenians and is funded by Newcastle City Council’s Working Neighbourhood Fund.
